Since 2018, Rosa Elvira Recinos has been part of the Colibrí Program, an initiative that led her to discover her passion for community organizing and restorative agriculture. Her initial involvement was through the training program for social facilitators, where she received instruction in social economy, entrepreneurship, and soft skills.

Her commitment led her to become part of the Agricultural Landscape Management Committee Association (ACOGESPA), where she has actively worked on integrating young people and adults into territorial advocacy processes. One of her greatest achievements has been her participation in the Agricultural Summer School, which allowed her to reconnect with her academic training and enroll at the Pan-American University, where she recently earned her degree in Sustainable Local Development.
Even before participating in the program, Rosa already had a strong commitment to her community, organizing a group of young people to secure access to piped water for 122 families. Her leadership and determination were key to mobilizing the community and making a project that many considered impossible a reality.
Today, Rosa not only continues to transform her community through her work, but she also inspires other young people to believe in their capacity for change. Her story is a testament to the fact that when a young woman is committed to herself, her community, and other young people, there is no challenge she cannot overcome. Rosa has demonstrated that passion and perseverance can open paths where before there were only barriers. And with every step she takes, she continues to sow the seeds of the future.
Her leadership has been key in shaping new generations of young people who seek to make a difference in their communities. Through workshops, mentorship, and guidance, Rosa has fostered the active participation of more young people in social and environmental impact initiatives. For her, the success of her work is not measured solely by completed projects, but by each young person who discovers their potential and dares to strive for a better future.

In her peculiar way of encouraging others, Rosa involved Patroclus —a unique character— in the youth team. "Patrocleo is the motto of youth. It represents that courage to dare to be yourself, to break with the established order, like speaking in public without shame or crossing symbolic borders ." It was born at the July 2024 camp and since then has become that friend who never leaves you and who motivates you to be who you really are.
Rosa's journey demonstrates that passion, resilience, and dedication can transform realities and sow hope in places where only barriers once existed. With every step she takes, this young woman continues to cultivate the future, reminding us that true change begins with the will to believe in the impossible.
